STEAM and Creative Drama Training

This training prototype introduces a new teaching style to trained elementary educators. The ideal client is a school board looking to integrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into their curriculum. Teachers had already implemented STEM teaching, and drama was selected as the art form to supplement learning.

GOALS:

Give teachers tools to implement drama into core subject lesson plans

Create a support system for teachers to be able to get help creating more plans in the future.

METHOD:

Conduct training in two phases.

Phase One is a targeted train-the-trainer session with representatives from each of the schools in the district.

Phase Two is a district-wide training where the main facilitator introduces the training, then Phase One participants lead their schools through the second half of the activities.

Further resources will be provided to the participants by way of a district Google Drive for lesson plans and example videos.

TOOLS:

Google Suite; Adobe Illustrator
